Please find below an important message from Academy Nominating Committee Chair, Lucille Beseler, regarding updates to the national nomination timelines. Some of these changes will affect the DPG nomination process, so we want to ensure you have the necessary resources and information to support you in your role.

 Nomination Timeline:

  • Deadline: All DPG/MIG candidates for the 2026 election must be submitted to the Academy by November 1.

    ·         July 14-October 17: Call for Nominations

    ·         November 1: Nominations Due

    ·        December 1-December 30: Petition Period Occurs

    ·         December 1-January 11: Candidate biographical submissions 

    ·         January 19-January 26: National Academy Election

    The Academy has relaunched the Mentorship program! This six-month program gives you the opportunity to share your passion for nutrition and dietetics with a student or early career professional. You can help make a difference by signing up to be a mentor. Share your perspectives and help guide the next generation of registered dietitian nutritionists and nutrition and dietetics technicians, registered!

     Are you ready to make a difference?  To be an Academy mentor, you need to:  

    • Be a registered or retired RDN or NDTR  

    • Have at least ten years of experience in the field  

    • Agree to commit to at least one hour-long one-on-one meeting with your mentee for six months
